Cyclist struck outside Cornwall city hall

CORNWALL – A cyclist was rushed to hospital late Friday morning after a collision between a bicycle and a car near city hall.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the intersection of Fourth and Pitt Streets around 11:15 a.m. for a woman down on the pavement.

A maroon Pontiac Vibe was stopped in the eastbound lanes of Fourth Street while the bicycle was laying in the road on Pitt Street.

The woman was taken to hospital by paramedics complaining to neck injuries, though police said the situation was not life-threatening.

A police officer was interviewing her at the hospital as part of an ongoing investigation.
