Teen girl sexually assaulted in South Glengarry: police

SOUTH GLENGARRY – A North Glengarry teen is facing a sexual assault charge after a young girl was allegedly sexually assaulted.

SD&G O.P.P., assisted by the SD&G O.P.P. Crime Unit, arrested an 18-year-old man today (Wednesday) following an investigation.

Investigators say the 15-year-old girl was assaulted on one occasion and the investigation started after it was reported on Aug. 21.

O.P.P. Const. Tylor Copeland tells Cornwall Newswatch the perpetrator and the victim were known to each other but they were not siblings.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in an Alexandria court Oct. 14.

The name of the accused was withheld to protect the victim’s identity.
