CORNWALL — An elderly man is facing charges in connection to a bomb threat that touched off a one-hour evacuation of Walmart on July 18.

City police arrested Albert Givogue, 74, on Wednesday and charged him with threats, mischief and false messages.

Police say a man said to a store associate that he had left a bomb in the Walmart store on Ninth Street.

The store had to be evacuated for just over an hour while firefighters, police and store managers swept the building — they found nothing.

Givogue will appear in a Cornwall court Sept. 8.
