CORNWALL ā€“ A Grade 12 student from Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School will be representing students for Eastern Ontario Catholic schools for the upcoming year.

Thomas Mooney has been elected the Catholic Student Trustee for the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.

He’ll be taking over for Brianna Workman from St. Michael Catholic High School in Kemptville.

ā€œIā€™m really looking forward to the opportunity to serve all of the students…and I am excited to continue working with the members of the Student Senate in this new role,ā€ Mooney said following the election April 30.

Mooney will not only represent 12,900 students, but will also lead the Student Senate, which discusses student issues, gathers student opinion and helps to develop communications with all students across the CDSBEO.

He will be officially sworn into his new role in September.
