Two donations come in for United Way

SD&G – The United Way of SD&G was the recipient of two donations this week – one from a community group and the other from a corporate sponsor.

The Cornwall Old Timers Hockey Club handed over a cheque for $2,800.

As well, Scotiabank also followed through on their promise to match up to $5,000 of the funds raised from the 12th Annual Seaway International Wine Festival. Members of the bank made out a cheque for $2,500 this week.

The entire wine festival event raised $14,000 for the SD&G United Way and Rachel’s Kids.

The United Way finished at 94 per cent of its $707,070 goal after extending its campaign until Jan. 9, 2015.
