SD&G – Some frigid Arctic air is going to be pushing into SD&G, making it the coldest week of winter so far this season.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement at 6:30 a.m. saying temperatures will be well below normal average values for early January.

But Cornwall may be spared some of the most bitter cold because of the St. Lawrence River moderating the shoreline.

After the temperature drops to minus 15 later today (Monday), the high temperature will only be in the minus teens with the exception of Tuesday (high minus 9).

The low temperatures will peak on Wednesday night with a forecast low of minus 29.

The normal temperatures this time of year are a high of minus 5 and a low of minus 15.
