HOGANSBURG, N.Y. – An Akwesasne, Quebec teenager is facing U.S. charges after a confrontation at the port of entry near Hogansburg.
New York State Police charged the girl, 17, with second- and three-degree assault.
Police allege the teen got into an argument with border officers and became combative, accusing the officers of racism and swearing and spitting at them.
When she was taken into the lobby on her way to a detention area, she allegedly kicked a male officer in the groin and also struck another officer in the leg as they tried to restrain her.
The accused was turned over to state police on Wednesday morning and arraigned in Massena town court.
