Cornwall River Kings snap losing skid

CORNWALL – The Cornwall River Kings snapped a five game losing skid with a 3-0 shut out of the visiting St-Georges Cool FM.

Pete Karvouniaris stopped all 31 shots to record the shutout Friday night and the River Kings played their best home-ice performance this season.

There were 1,341 fans in the stands at the Ed Lumley Arena to see the big victory.

Cornwall outshot St-Georges 45-31.

Scoring for Cornwall were Michael Tessier, Sasha Pokulok and Nik Pokulok sealed the victory with the third goal on an empty net with 1:13 left in regulation.

The River Kings stay at home another day as they host Trois-Rivieres Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
