Former Cornwall minor hockey president charged

CORNWALL – The former president of the Cornwall Minor Hockey Association is facing fraud-related charges.

Following a five month police investigation, Brian Caskenette, 57, was arrested at his home Tuesday and later released with a promise to appear in a Cornwall court Dec. 11.

Caskenette is facing charges of fraud over $5,000, theft by conversion and breach of trust.

He is alleged to have used a hockey association credit card for personal use over a 2.5 year period, beginning in November, 2011.

Police say the Cornwall Minor Hockey Association credit card had “numerous purchases and cash advances that were deemed to be for personal use.

Caskenette is also accused of submitting unauthorized expenses.
