(Newswatch Group/Bill Kingston, File)

SOUTH DUNDAS, Ont. – A Napanee man is facing a laundry list of charges after police had to intercept a stolen vehicle. SD&G O.P.P. say one of their officers pulled over an SUV for speeding on Highway 401 around 1:23 a.m. this morning. But the driver took off. Police say the vehicle was being driven erratically and had to be ‘intercepted’ without incident. Police later learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Deseronto (located half way between Napanee and Belleville). A 37-year-old Napanee man was arrested and is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime, flight from a police officer, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified (three counts), failing to comply with probation orders (two counts) and driving while suspended. He appeared for a bail hearing in Cornwall today.
